FAQS

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST SESSION?

WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND I DO AFTER A SESSION?

I will aim to arrive about 10 minutes before the session (parking permitting) to get set up, after which we will do a brief intake. There is no detail too small as long as you are comfortable sharing. If you book a Deep Tissue or Relaxation Massage, we will likely have you disrobe to your comfort level. If you book a Therapeutic Bodywork session, please wear comfortable and flexible clothing to allow for unrestricted movement.

Always hydrate. Massage and bodywork move fluid throughout the body, oftentimes fluid that has been stuck for a while. Hydrating will help your body eliminate the old and bring in fresh nourishment, avoiding a “massage hangover.” Your muscles may be sore for a couple of days, let me know if they remain sore after five to seven. A hot bath, especially an Epsom salt bath, can help with the soreness. Also, gentle stretching and flexing of the sore muscles will help the fascial matrix reorganize and pump nutrients into the muscles.

HOW MANY SESSIONS UNTIL I ACHIEVE MY GOAL?

DO YOU TREAT ILLNESS?

Whatever your goal may be - tension release, injury recovery, improved accessibility and responsiveness, etc. - can be attained in an unknown number of sessions. It can be thought of like a skill: the body and mind must both be educated and engaged in a practice of attunement and responsiveness. Each person will have their own tempo and rhythm, and we’ll honor that process of learning. Of course, goals are great in determining a direction and trajectory, but the savory bits are along the journey. As we continue to work, we’ll continue to discover.

WHERE DO THE SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?

The short answer is no. Though, I am happy to be a support system for your recovery and supplementary to your treatment. I am also happy to provide you with my observations in the hopes that some of that curiosity sparks a conversation with your primary care provider.

DO YOU OFFER SENSUAL MASSAGE?

They will take place in your home or office. Please be sure you have a private and/or quiet space that is at least 10 feet by 8 feet, or near that size.

HOW CAN WE BE SAFE WITH COVID-19?

Please have an N-95/KN-95 mask, surgical mask, or cloth face mask and be prepared to wear it for the majority of the session. I will be wearing a KN-95 mask the whole time. I provide clean sheets and wipe my table down with a disinfectant after each session. Your mask may be removed for when we do facial work or if it restricts your breathing too much in the face cradle.

No, I can’t help you here. If you are seeking sensual massage, please inquire elsewhere.
